Screencap is for recording your screen and sharing it. This policy sets out what is not allowed. It forms part of our Terms of Service.
What you may not do
- Illegal content. Do not upload or share anything that is unlawful where you live or where we operate.
- Child sexual abuse material. Absolutely forbidden. We report it to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) and may report it to law enforcement.
- Non-consensual intimate imagery. Do not share intimate images or video of anyone without their consent, including fakes.
- Harassment, threats and hate. Do not threaten, bully or stalk people, incite violence, or attack people for who they are.
- Doxxing. Do not publish other people's private information, such as home addresses, ID numbers or private account details, to expose or target them.
- Malware, phishing and scams. Do not distribute harmful software, impersonate others to steal information, or run fraud.
- Spam. Do not use Screencap links or comments for mass unsolicited messages or deceptive promotion.
- Copyright or trademark infringement. Do not share material you have no right to share. See how to report infringement.
- Recording people unlawfully. Get the consent the law requires before recording someone's voice, image or private conversation.
- Hosting unrelated files. Screencap is for screen recordings, not a general file host or video distribution network.
- Breaking or overloading the service. Do not probe for weaknesses, bypass limits, scrape at scale or send traffic meant to disrupt it.
- Evading a ban. If we have removed you, do not return with a new account.
Encrypted recordings
These rules apply equally to end-to-end encrypted recordings. We act on reports about them, including by removing recordings and closing accounts, even when we cannot see the content.
What happens if you break the rules
Depending on how serious the problem is, we may remove content, suspend your account, or terminate it permanently, without notice. We may report illegal activity to law enforcement, and we report child sexual abuse material to NCMEC as US law requires. We may keep records related to a report as the law allows.
How to report a problem
Use the Report button on any share page, or email [email protected] with the link. Full details are on the Report abuse and copyright page.
